Abdication in favor of the younger generation seems to be something of a trend in Europe — if two cases can be considered a trend. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands abdicated last year so that her son, Willem-Alexander, could bring some youth and vitality to the largely ceremonial role.

The press just wants the British version of the Kardashians the Midds in the castles such a push for it.The Glooms in power they will get their reality show everyday.

If the Mids ever got in to the castles the British people would riot on the streets. I have never come across so much dislike for one family but can see precisely why. There is no way the public would allow it - the country would become a Republic overnight!
