Would love it to be a yes result, dreaming about it. We have to hope, power of collective positive thought guys, it can work wonders.

Re: Scottish Independence
Yes collective positive thinking to quash the backlash of negativity and businesses like JL saying prices will go up.

^ If they do at least customers would still be protected by the Bank of England guarantee scheme if there were serious financial problems.
I couldn't undestand why prices should go up north of the border but on the news last night someone said distribution costs and business rates are higher in Scotland so as an independent country Scots would have have to pay for this in increased prices whereas at the moment the extera cost is spread over the whoile UK - if true logic decress that prices south of the border would go down - I won't hold my breath on this one!!!

Re: Scottish Independence
Whatever the result, things can never be the same again, changes will have to be made. So even if the UK "wins" it will have a lot of work to do to get the confidence of the Scots back - if they ever do. If they don´´t do their own thing now I reckon they will when HM dies. In fact I think a lot of things will blow sky high out of the water when the old girl goes.

Re: Scottish Independence
Things will never be the same again and even if they don't become independent after the referendum psychologically they will feel separate. There will be much ill feeling whatever the result.

The dirty tricks brigade have done more harm than good eg the Ma 'Waity is preggers' scam, blubbering Cameron and hissing and spitting Milliband have just alienated the sharp as razor Scots.

Re: Scottish Independence
Just been watching this, are these people for real. Asking people in London what they think about this Scottish Independence. You have to watch, just what do people think about these days, they do not seem to have a clue.

The clever Scots are just even more alienated by these idiotic and transparent gestures which they know will never see light of day. Whatever way the vote goes things will never be the same again as there will be so much bad feeling left after all the mud slinging!

Re: Scottish Independence
Agree whole-heartedly. I hear a lot from family and friends in Scotland, none of these ridiculous pr stunts going down well, so transparent and they are seeing straight through them.
Whether a yes or no vote, in my opinion the damage has already been done, and if Scotland do vote no, the UK has still not won, not at all.

Re: Scottish Independence
As you say, the damage already done whatever way the vote goes. So many people revealed their true colours with the mud slinging. Just heard on the radio that one poll says they are running neck to neck and another the yes vote 8 points ahead.

Re: Scottish Independence
Interesting that voters who were interviewed said that they make a mistake and if they could they would change their votes to yes.

Re: Scottish Independence
I know there appears to have been a lot of scaremongering. I think that the reason that these comments have been made is to make the voters realise the gravity of what will happen if Scotland votes for independence. They will end up at best in recession.
Companies are talking of moving their operation into England. That mean many jobs will be lost. There is no way that they will be able to keep the pound therefore they will have to set their own currency. If that currency is weak then the cost of goods imported from England will be high.
If they decide to separate then there is no going back. Personally whatever they decide is their choice but I hope that they are not getting carried away with patriotism because they will feel the pain of separation for a long time and there is no guarantee that they will be better off in the end.

Re: Scottish Independence
Apparently a lot of people still haven't had their papers yet so won't be able to vote - in one place whole streets are without them.
